The AUS vs NZ series continues with the two-match Test series after the three-match T20I series. The first Test will be played in Wellington from February 29-March 4. The match starts at 3.30 am IST. 

New Zealand are topping the WTC points table after their Test series win against Australia. The Kiwis white-washed the Proteas 2-0 heading into this Test series.

Tim Southee will lead the Kiwis in the Test series. He will have his key player Kane Williamson back. However, wicketkeeper opener Devon Conway has been ruled out of the first Test due to a thumb injury.

Southee will lead the bowling attack with Matt Henry, William ORourke, and Scott Kuggeleijn. O Rourke and Kuggeleijn have both played just one Test match each.

Mitchell Santner is the specialist spinner on the side. Left-arm Kiwi pacer Neil Wagner announced his international retirement ahead of this Test series. 

Australia will be led by Pat Cummins. The Aussies clean swept the Kiwis in the T20I series under Mitchell Marsh heading into this series. They are placed third on the WTC points table. The Aussies clean-swept Pakistan and drew a Test series against West Indies before this series.

Cummins has all his experienced players back in the Test side. David Warner announced his retirement from Test cricket after the series against Pakistan. He retired from ODI cricket after the World Cup and is only playing T20I cricket.

Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland, and Nathan Lyon make up the bowling core. The Steve Smith experiment at the top after Warner’s retirement has not yielded results so far.
