Jake Fraser-McGurk goes all out on Krunal Pandya as he hits hat-trick of sixes in Lucknow

Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Jake Fraser-McGurk oozed his class with the bat in the game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. 

Jake Fraser-McGurk made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and made sure that he made an immediate impact with the bat. Not only this, the young Australia batter made sure that he took Delhi Capitals to their second win of the season. 

Jake Fraser-McGurk started off his innings with the two sixes and then didn’t look back. He played a sensational innings for his team. What caught the attention of many was when he struggled for a bit, he didn’t lose his calm and made sure that he stayed there and took his team close to the target. 

One of the highlights of his innings came during the over of Krunal Pandya, which came during the 13th over of the game. The batter hit three consecutive sixes to start the over. He made a mockery of the bowler and raced for his half-century. 

Jake Fraser-McGurk started the over by clearing his front leg and heaved it over deep mid-wicket. On the next ball, he clubbed the ball over the deep extra cover for a maximum. He then followed it with a golf swing over long-off on the third ball of the over to complete a hat-trick of sixes.

Jake Fraser-McGurk ended with an innings of 55 runs off 35 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 157 and also. hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. His effort with the bat helped the Delhi Capitals win their second game of the IPL 2024.

Jake Fraser-McGurk opened up about his innings with the bat and said that he was itching to have a go. He talked about his batting and stated that he loved the atmosphere while playing in the IPL. While talking about his outing for Delhi Capitals, he explained: 

“I spent the last 5-6 games on the sidelines and was itching to have a go. It was more of trying not to swing too hard, trying to find the middle of the bat and that’s what I have been trying to do in the last 12 months. I loved the one over cover, nothing better than hitting over the off-side. 

“It is something that I continue to learn and do, batting outside of the powerplay and I will get better by playing more games. I am so happy to be out there, this is a different world out here, heard about it but to experience it.. it is an amazing time to come to India.” 

Delhi Capitals moved to 9th on the points table in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 2024. They now have two wins under their belt. The Rishabh Pant-led side will be next seen in action when they take on Gujarat Titans on 17th April.
