Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar opened up about his preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He said that he is feeling fit and wants to utilize the time to the full extent that he is getting ahead of the tournament.
Deepak Chahar is amongst one of the most unluckiest players in the Indian cricket team’s history. He has missed a lot of cricket for the team due to the injuries. The pacer has performed extremely well in whatever chances he has got.
Deepak Chahar was recently included in the Indian team for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa. But he pulled out of the series to take care of his father, who was sick and was hospitalized as well. The pacer looked after his father but now he is putting in hard yards.
Deepak Chahar is now expected to make a return through the IPL for Chennai Super Kings. The fast bowler will be extremely crucial for the team in the tournament and will be vital for the franchise’s chances, considering the amount of inexperience the team has in the fast bowling department.
The upcoming IPL will be extremely crucial for Deepak Chahar personally. The fast bowler will have a point to prove this time around because of the amount of cricket he has missed. Also, the upcoming edition will be hold an important value for him, considering the T20 World Cup 2024 around the corner.
Deepak Chahar opened up about his fitness, saying that he is feeling pretty well. He admitted that he took time to get back into rhythm and wants to do well for his team. Speaking in a video interaction with Aakash Chopra, he explained:
“Fitness is pretty well. When you haven’t played for long and are short of practice, you cannot play directly. You want to do well on your return. If you haven’t played for over 1 month then it takes time to get back to rhythm. I started playing after my father got well and but there hasn’t been any series so far as well.”
Preparations are going on – Deepak Chahar ahead of the IPL 2024
Deepak Chahar further talked about his preparations for the IPL 2024. He said that since there is no series he has his eye set on the league. Elaborating further on his point, he said:
“Whatever is there is IPL now so preparations are going on for that only. You generally don’t get this much time. If you are injured then you have to do rehab as well and are trying to reach your strengths. But when you are fully fit then you improve. During that time you need to make sure you utilise it well.”
