NEW DELHI: Star batter Virat Kohli returned to the country after a triumphant beginning to the new year that saw India demolish South Africa in the second and final Test in Cape Town inside two days to draw the series 1-1.
The game established a new record for the shortest Test match in the history of cricket, concluding with only 642 balls bowled.
Kohli ended the two-match series as leading run-getter for India scoring 172 runs in four innings with one half-century.He was the second highest run-getter overall behind South Africa’s Dean Elgar (201 runs).

Upon his arrival, the former India skipper was happily seen fulfilling the requests of photographers, posing for them before getting into his car.
Kohli has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year award along with compatriot Ravindra Jadeja, Australian captain Pat Cummins and his team-mate Travis Head.
