Coming to the game, Virat Kohli yet again carried Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s batting lineup single-handedly. The batter continued his golden touch in the league and made sure that he took his team to the competitive total on the board in a game where the rest of his teammates failed to get going.

Virat Kohli slammed a vital century, his 8th in IPL, and took his team to a total of 183 runs. The batter ended with the innings of unbeaten 113 runs off 72 balls, batting with a strike rate of over 156, and also slammed 12 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.

However, his effort went in vain as Royal Challengers Bengaluru went on to lose the game. Jos Buttler oozed his class with the bat and slammed a blistering century. Skipper Sanju Samson (69) chipped in with a valiant half-century as Rajasthan Royals chased the tarter with 6 wickets in hand.

I was 12 off 10, I don’t want to be over-aggressive, want to keep the bowler guessing – Virat Kohli after his ton

Virat Kohli talked about his century against Rajasthan Royals. He revealed that ahead of the innings they had a target of 195 runs in mind but after Faf du Plessis got out he needed to bat till the end. The batting great also opened up about his plans, saying that he wants to keep the bowler guessing. Speaking to broadcasters, he stated:

“Our initial target was 195 but then we decided if one of me or Faf got out one had to bat till the end. We got a boost and got 185, which I feel this is an effective total. If we get the change of pace and lengths right, it will be a tough chase. I’m not coming in with premeditation.

“I was 12 off 10, I don’t want to be over-aggressive, want to keep the bowler guessing. They want me to go hard and get me out. It’s just experience and maturity. play the conditions and have the game ready. Doesn’t seem there’s dew hope it’s the same. Balls didn’t come on too bad, felt you couldn’t get under the bat.”

Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered their fourth loss of the IPL 2024. They will be next seen in action when they take on Mumbai Indians on 11th April.
