USA’s Ali Khan opens up on his potential clash with Virat Kohli, Babar Azam at the T20 World Cup 2024

Ali Khan, the swift bowler hailing from the United States of America (USA), has shared his aspiration regarding confronting cricket stalwarts Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Challenges for the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024

The upcoming global showpiece event holds immense significance for the United States as it will mark the historic first time for them to host a full fledged tournament alongside the co-host West Indies. Team USA are placed within Group A, where they’ll play four crucial matches across three different venues within the country. Their journey will kick off with a match against Canada on June 1, followed by encounters with Ireland, the cricketing powerhouse India and Pakistan.

Ali Khan on formidable opponent Virat Kohli

Ali Khan couldn’t contain his excitement for the upcoming challenge. He specifically mentioned Kohli from India as a formidable opponent. While acknowledging India’s strong batting lineup, Khan expressed his determination to face them head-on during their third match of the tournament.

“The player who can give me a big challenge, especially when I am bowling, will be Virat Kohli. India has some really good players and we will be playing our third game against them,” Khan was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Khan’s eagerness to bowl against Babar Azam

Pakistan’s Babar is another player Khan is eager to bowl against. He highlighted the special opportunity it presented, saying, “Pakistan has some really good players. Babar Azam is one of them. It will be really special and a good experience to bowl to these special players.” 

The USA team will first face Pakistan on June 6 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, followed by their match against India on June 12 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
