Twitter reactions: Bowlers shine as Delhi Capitals steamroll Gujarat Titans in a one-sided contest | IPL 2024

The match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It turned out to be a one-sided contest as Delhi bowlers came up with a dominating performance and handing their side an emphatic win.

Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma lead Capitals in bundling out Gujarat for a low total

The Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first innings, the Gujarat Titans struggled to gain momentum and were bowled out for just 89 runs in 17.3 overs. Their batting lineup faltered, with Wriddhiman Saha scoring only 2 runs off 10 deliveries, Shubman Gill scoring 8 runs off 6 deliveries, and Sai Sudharsan adding 12 runs off 9 deliveries.

The middle order also failed to make an impact, except for Rashid Khan, who put up a valiant fight by scoring 31 runs off 24 deliveries. The bowlers for Delhi Capitals did an excellent job, with Mukesh Kumar taking 3 wickets for 14 runs in 2.3 overs, Ishant Sharma taking 2 wickets for 8 runs in 2 overs, and Tristan Stubbs also claiming 2 wickets in 1 over.

Delhi completed easy chase

Chasing a modest total of 90 runs, the Delhi Capitals batsmen played aggressively and comfortably reached the target in just 8.5 overs, losing only 4 wickets in the process. Jake Fraser McGurk led the way with 20 runs off 10 balls, including 2 sixes.

Shai Hope contributed 19 runs off 10 deliveries, also hitting 2 sixes. The Gujarat Titans’ bowling attack tried to fight back, but the small target was not enough to defend against the Capitals’ strong batting lineup.

In the end, Delhi Capitals emerged victorious by 6 wickets, securing a comprehensive win and showcasing their dominance with both the ball and the bat.
