Former England players Stuart Broad and Michael Vaughan have questioned the LBW dismissal of England batsman Ollie Pope. Pope was caught in front by Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj for 39 runs from 55 balls.
However, at first, the umpire didn’t give the decision as out and the Indian team had to send the call upstairs. However, in the replay, it was found that the ball was hitting the stumps and Pope had to walk back to the dressing room.
While former England captain Michael Vaughan expressed his disappointment over DRS and believed that the ball might have missed the stumps and should have been passing over. Also, former English pacer Stuart Broad stated that the decision was not correct and the ball was very high for getting three reds on DRS.

England batsman Ben Duckett has put the visitors in the driving seat of the third IND vs ENG Test match being played in Rajkot. Duckett, who is currently unbeaten on 133 runs, scored a brilliant hundred and put up a brilliant counterattack against the Indian bowlers. Duckett added necessary runs with Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope, which helped England end Day 2 at 207/2 in 35 overs. Ben Duckett has ensured that England’s run rate doesn’t drop below five, and they are currently scoring runs at 5.91 an over.
Earlier, India lost their overnight batsmen Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav quickly on Day 2 and were able to add just five runs to their score. Jadeja departed for 112 whereas, Kuldeep walked back for 4 runs. Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin started to show some grace after the fall of two quick wickets. Both the batsmen put up a stand of 77 runs from 175 balls for the 8th wicket and made sure that India crossed the 400-run mark.
Dhruv Jurel got out after scoring 46 runs from 104 balls and smashed 2 fours and 3 sixes during his stay at the crease. Ravichandran Ashwin on the other hand, contributed 37 runs from 89 balls, whereas Jasprit Bumrah played a cameo of 26 runs from 28 balls.
England’s opening pair of Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley put up 89 runs for the first wicket to put England off to a respectable start. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin got rid of Crawley, who scored 15 runs off of 28 balls. This was Ashwin’s 500th Test wicket and became the 2nd fastest bowler to reach the mark.
On the other hand, Ben Duckett had an aggressive game plan and hit an 88-ball century. In addition, he set a record for the fastest English batsman to reach 100 on Indian territory. In addition to building up a respectable first-wicket partnership, Duckett took the second wicket with 93 runs off 102 balls. Pope was performing admirably, but Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj caught him ahead for 39 runs off of 55 balls.
England would want to continue their aggressive mindset on Day 3 as well and will make sure to cross India’s first innings score as quickly as possible. India would be aiming to remove Duckett in the early hours of Day 3.
