Rishabh Pant Warms Up In Chinnaswamy Nets Amid Recovery Process

Indian batsman Rishabh Pant has been away from international cricket since December 2022 after he met with a deadly car accident while returning to his home in Uttarakhand. Pant is one of the main members of the Indian cricket team and was also the team’s leading run scorer in the year 2022. Pant’s attacking and aggressive batting style also made him a captaincy candidate in the future.

Rishabh Pant is currently undergoing his rehabilitation period at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Pant went through surgeries after sustaining various injuries in January 2023. Pant is constantly been monitored by the medical team of the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI).

As India take on Afghanistan in the third T20I of the three-match series, Rishabh Pant recently met his Indian teammates at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Pant was seen interacting with Indian batsman Virat Kohli and later was spotted batting in the nets.

Rishabh Pant can make a comeback on the cricket field in the Indian Premier League 2024 and will be leading Delhi Capitals. Pant was ruled out from the 2023 edition of the tournament and the team was led by David Warner. The IPL 2024 is expected to start in March and will go on till May 2024. The tournament will end ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to be played in June.

If Rishabh Pant performs well in the Indian Premier League, he shall be in contention to play in the T20 World Cup 2024. Pant is a powerful hitter who has a brilliant quality of playing effortless shots. Pant can also hit sixes with a single hand. Pant missed the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023 due to his injury.

Rishabh Pant played for India in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in December 2022. Pant is mostly known for his brilliant batting display during the IND vs AUS Test series in 2020-21. Pant was the anchor of India’s historic chase at The Gabba in the fourth Test of the series and helped India to achieve a marvelous win. India were underdogs in that series and were blown away for 36 runs during the first Test match in Adelaide.

India also kept on losing players throughout the series and played with an absolute ‘B’ team in the fourth Test. However, it was the courage of the Indian team which took them through the series.

India would now aim to whitewash Afghanistan by winning the third T20I match all set to be played on January 17. India registered dominant wins in the first two games of the series and this will be the last time the Rohit Sharma-led side will be playing a T20I match ahead of the T20 World Cup. India would look forward to testing their bench strength and there might be some new players who shall play in the third match.
