Punjab Kings (PBKS) take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 33 of IPL 2024 in Mullanpur on Thursday, April 18. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST. The Kings are heading into this game after a loss in their previous game.
Punjab Kings took the game to the 19th over trying to defend 147 but lost it in the end. They missed Shikhar Dhawan in the last match and will be missing him for the next seven to 10 days as per coach Sanjay Bangar.
PBKS have struggled to get good opening stands in the season so far and the absence of Shikhar Dhawan will complicate it all the more. The bowlers performing well in the last match should come as a relief for the Kings.
The Kings have played six games and won just two. They are yet to win two games back to back and have struggled to keep the consistency going. The loss to Rajasthan Royals should hurt them as it was a close game.
The batters will push themselves to give their bowlers a few more runs in the next game. Talking about chances, PBKS might like to field the same XI, especially with no Shikhar Dhawan.
