The 19th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 witnessed a breathtaking display of power-hitting as Multan Sultans locked horns with Karachi Kings in a riveting encounter. The match was a rollercoaster ride with impressive performances from both sides, but it was Multan’s Usman Khan who stole the limelight with his sensational ton. However, it was Usman who stole the spotlight with a breathtaking century, scoring 106 runs off 59 deliveries, featuring ten fours and five sixes. Despite contributions from Reeza Hendricks and Khushdil Shah, Multan Sultans posted an imposing total of 189/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Usman completed his century by hammering a colossal six off a short ball by Mir Hamza in the 20th over towards deep square leg, where Mohammad Nawaz tried to grab the ball but failed as it sailed over his head and cleared the boundary rope comfortably.

Karachi Kings’ subpar chase

In reply, Karachi Kings faced an uphill battle. Shoaib Malik emerged as the top scorer with 38 runs off 28 balls. Despite notable contributions from Shan Masood, Irfan Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz, Karachi Kings fell short, finishing their innings at 169/7. Multan Sultans’ bowlers, especially Usama Mir and David Willey, displayed discipline, restricting the opposition.
