Kuldeep Sen gives fitting answer to doubters, brings out ‘shush’ celebration after bamboozling Matthew Wade, Abhinav Manohar

Kuldeep Sen hit the ground running in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in his debut season in 2022. The right-arm pacer impressed one and all with his bowling.

In seven games, he picked up eight wickets with the best figures of 4 for 20 and helped Rajasthan Royals qualify for the final for the first time since 2008. Unsurprisingly, many expected him to be a regular for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023. However, things did not go well for Kuldeep Sen in his second IPL season.

He played just two games in IPL 2023 and went wicketless in both of them. Kuldeep Sen struggled to find a place in Rajasthan Royals’ playing eleven for the first four games of the ongoing edition as well. However, he managed to get a recall from the team on Wednesday (April 10) after an injury ruled Nandre Burger out of the game.

Kuldeep Sen had a point to prove and he did that in style. After the Rajasthan Royals failed to pick up any wicket in the first eight overs, captain Sanju Samson threw the ball to him. And the pacer made an instant impact by dismissing Sai Sudharsan in his first over to give his team a much-needed breakthrough.

In his second over, he dismissed Matthew Wade as well as Abhinav Manohar to reduce GT to 79 for 3 from 64 for no loss. And his reaction after dismissing the batters made it clear that he was desperate to give a fitting answer to his critics who had written him. After dismissing Wade and Manohar, Kuldeep Sen brought out the shush celebration by putting his finger on the lips.

Talking about the game, GT were on 109 for 3 in the 14th over at the time of writing this report. Earlier in the game, half-centuries from Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag helped RR recover from 42 for 2 and post 196/3.
