IND vs ENG Today Match Prediction- 5th Test, Who Will Win Today’s Test Match? 2024

The IND vs ENG fifth and final Test match starts in Dharamsala on March 7. The match starts at 9.30 am IST. India have already won the series with back-to-back wins in the last three Test matches. They are leading 3-1 and eyeing a 4-1 finish.

After England won the first Test in Hyderabad, India made a resounding comeback in the next three Test matches. They won the second Test in Vizag by 106 runs, the third in Rajkot by 434 runs, and the fourth in Ranchi while chasing by five wickets.

Heading into the fifth Test, two cricketers are eyeing milestones. Ravichandran Ashwin and Jonny Bairstow are on the verge of playing their 100th Test matches. Jasprit Bumrah will be back in the Indian playing XI and England might bring in Gus Atkinson in place of Ollie Robinson as per reports.

Team Analysis

India

As said above, Jasprit Bumrah will be making a comeback in the Indian playing XI for the fifth and final Test match. He was added to the Indian squad for the fifth Test.

The batting lineup is expected to remain the same with Dhruv Jurel as the specialist keeper. The selection conundrum is whether Rajat Patidar will be given another chance after his extended lean par since his debut Test innings in Vizag.

With reports of a rank-turner being laid out, it will be interesting to see whether Inda plays three pacers with Akash Deep in the XI after his brilliant debut. India might post with its three spinners’ formulae

England

England also have selection conundrums with Ollie Robinson. He bowled 13 overs in the Ranchi Test going for 54 runs. He was not used with the ball in the second innings. Former England cricketers want him to be replaced with Gus Atkinson who is a part of the England squad as well.

With the bat, Joe Root scored his first century of the series and his 10th overall against India. He looked very different than the rest of the batters playing his way and for once getting out of the “Bazball” shell. They will be keen to finish the series with a win in Dharamsala.

Key Factors

Pitch Conditions

In general playing conditions in Dharamsala are completely different from what it was in the first three Tests The weather conditions are much cooler much to the relief of England who have been bearing with a bit of heat across the previous four venues.

Talking about the pitch, the wicket is generally a seaming-friendly wicket in Dharamsala aiding pace and swing. However, as per reports, the pitch curator will prepare the wicket after a discussion with the Indian team management.

Reports further say that a rank-turner is expected to be laid out. The weather in Dhamsala has been really cold for the last few days with continuous rain as well.

Form and fitness

There are no fitness or injury concerns from both teams with the squad that they currently have. Form-wise Yashasvi Jaiswal has batted brilliantly approaching 700 runs in the tournament. Root scored a century in Ranchi and seems to have got his form back. Jasprit Bumrah will be back in the Indian team after a much-needed rest.

Tactical Acumen

Ben Stokes despite losing the last three test matches have been brilliant with his moves as captain. Former experts and television commentators have richly praised his captaincy and the way he has backed his young spinners. Rohit Sharma too has earned much praise for the way, he too has used his bowlers.
