Watch – The crowd goes crazy after Sanju Samson returns to the T20I side

Sanju Samson is always in the eyes of critics due to his inconsistency in international cricket. Sanju has always wasted opportunities and has not been able to live as per the expectations. Samson has only managed to score 54 runs from the last four T20I matches which shows his inconsistency in the format. The right-handed batter has scored 374 runs from 25 T20I matches at an average of 19.68.

However, the right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman garnered headlines once again with his match-winning hundred last month in December 2023. Samson scored 108 runs from 114 balls in the third ODI match of the series and helped India reach a first-innings score of 296/8. India were able to win that match by 78 runs and the series by a margin of 2-1.

As Sanju Samson has made a comeback in the Indian T20I side, he will look to perform well and will want to make a place in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. The IND vs AFG 3rd T20I is the last T20I match ahead of the T20 World Cup and the Indian team will want to make full use of it.

However, some players are missing from the squad and their performance in the IPL 2024 will decide their presence in India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Sanju Samson will be leading Rajasthan Royals once again in the Indian Premier League. While Sanju’s international T20I career record doesn’t match his standards the Kerala batsman is a different player in the Indian Premier League.

Sanju Samson has scored a total of 3888 runs from 152 matches in the cash-rich league. Samsom has scored a total of three hundreds in his IPL career followed by 20 half-centuries. Samson has been continuously scoring over 350 runs in every IPL season since 2017 and will aim to repeat the performance in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Samson also led Rajasthan Royals to the finals of the IPL in 2022 but lost to Gujarat Titans in the end.
