After Hardik Pandya lost his wicket against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024 match 8, fans at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad teased him by shouting Rohit Sharma’s name. Hardik Pandya is the new skipper of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as MI skipper after joining the team ahead of IPL 2024. The move angered many fans of Rohit Sharma; who also took to social media to slam Pandya and the MI franchise for the decision.
The hatred has also gone inside the stadium, where the fans have booed Pandya in both MI games in IPL 2024. Even during the SRH vs MI encounter on Wednesday, March 27, fans attacked Pandya during his time on the field.

During MI vs SRH encounter of IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya got out in the 18th over. As soon as he lost his wicket, the whole crowd at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium erupted in joy. Later, when he made his way towards the dugout, fans shouted Rohit Sharma’s name to tease him.

Hardik Pandya failed with the bat vs SRH
The MI skipper completely failed to smack runs against SRH bowlers. He could only score 24 runs off 20 deliveries before losing his wicket. SRH pacer Jaydev Unadkat dismissed him with a bouncer in the final ball of the 18th over. Pandya tried to pull it but it went straight to wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians lost the high-scoring game against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 31 runs. Chasing a gigantic 278, they fell short towards the end and could only put up 246-5 on the board. Tilak Verma slammed the most 64 runs for the team as they failed to chase down 278.

SRH posts highest-ever IPL total vs MI
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad broke numerous batting records in the 1st innings. They registered the highest-ever team total of 277 in the match. They broke RCB’s record of 263-5, which they set in IPL 2013.
Mumbai Indians have registered a miserable start in IPL 2024. The five-time champions have lost two back-to-back matches in IPL 2024. Before losing to SRH, they lost to Gujarat Titans in their first game by 6 runs. Mumbai will next face Rajasthan Royals on Monday, April 1 at Wankhede Stadium.
