‘One thing was Dhoni’: Former Chennai Super Kings star Shane Watson | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former Australian cricket sensation Shane Watson expressed confidence in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they gear up to rectify their mistakes from their previous clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Following a 20-run loss to Delhi Capitals, defending champions CSK find themselves positioned third on the IPL points table, boasting 4 points after securing two wins and enduring one loss, with a commendable net run rate of +0.976.

In a chat with JioCinema, Watson highlighted the significance of learning from past setbacks and capitalizing on the team’s strengths. He particularly emphasized the remarkable performance of former CSK skipper MS Dhoni in the previous encounter, urging for a strategic adjustment in the batting order.

“CSK will be learning from the little things that went wrong against Delhi in their last game and make the most of the things that went incredibly well. One thing was Dhoni, the way he batted, coming in late in the game, which will mean that hopefully, he’ll move up the order when an opportunity presents itself, because he batted as well as I’ve seen him for a long time,” Watson remarked.
Anticipating an improved performance in the upcoming match against the Hyderabad-based franchise, Watson underlined CSK’s resilience and adaptability. He emphasized the team’s ability to analyze their mistakes and fine-tune their strategies accordingly.

“The lessons that CSK learned, that’s the reason why they’ve been so successful for so long because they’ll find out little elements they need to get better, they need to execute better and where they went wrong and they’ll learn from that. So they’ll be ready to go against Hyderabad,” he added.
