Hardik Pandya finally reacts to ‘Rohit, Rohit’ chants

Things are not going well at all for Hardik Pandya in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). The India allrounder started a new journey in the IPL this season after replacing Rohit Sharma as the Mumbai Indians captain.

Things have not really unfolded in the manner that he would have liked. Mumbai Indians have started their campaign in the 17th edition of the IPL with two losses in a row. In their first game of the season, they suffered a 6-run loss against Hardik Pandya’s former team Gujarat Titans. While chasing 169, they were on 129 for 3 before suffering an inexplicable collapse and finishing on 162 for 9.

In their second game, they conceded a record total of 277/3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. While they did well with the bat and scored 246/5, they still ended up on the losing side. Talking about Hardik Pandya’s performance, he has scored a modest 34 runs and managed to pick up just 1 wicket so far.

Hardik Pandya’s reaction to ‘Rohit’ chants:

Hardik Pandya is not only struggling to do well as Mumbai’s captain but has also been constantly targeted by the fans. Mumbai Indians were severely criticized for unceremoniously sacking Rohit and appointing the all-rounder as his replacement. The fans had expressed their displeasure on social media and are now targeting Hardik Pandya during the games.

He was booed and jeered by the fans in Ahmedabad as well as in Hyderabad. The fans not only booed him but also taunted him with chants of ‘Rohit, Rohit’. And while Hardik Pandya has not really reacted to the boos and the taunts on the field, a viral video shows him losing his cool.

The incident took place while he was making his way to the dressing room. At the start of the video, he was seen talking with Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani before heading towards the dressing room. As Pandya was climbing up the stairs, the fans targeted him with ‘Rohit, Rohit’ chants and he vented his frustration by hitting the railing.
