NEW DELHI: Peshawar Zalmi successfully defended 147 to beat Karachi Kings by two runs in a thrilling match in the Pakistan Super League at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday.
Peshawar fast bowler Aamer Jamal conceded only one bye on the last ball when Karachi batter Irfan Khan needed a boundary.
Peshawar moved to the top of the standings and will play the first qualifier in the playoffs on Thursday.
Karachi, which was already eliminated from the playoffs race, finished fifth overall with four wins in 10 matches.
Peshawar scored 147/6 on a tricky pitch which offered plenty of turn.
Karachi came agonizingly close in reaching 145/5.
